The director of the Brussels International Center for Research and Human Rights, Ramadan Abu Jazar, said that the center's experts and researchers have been following with great concern the deterioration of human rights in Turkey for years, especially with regard to the fierce and unprecedented targeting of journalists, judges, civil society activists, political opponents and even lawyers.

Hawar news agency ANHA interviewed with Abo Jazar, in exclusive meeting, who talked that the center's researchers recorded many cases of liquidation inside Turkish jails, and brutal acts that led to the death, alluding that the report issued by the center in conjunction with International Human Rights Day, which falls on December 10 every year.

Yesterday, the Brussels International Center for Research and Human Rights issued a report prior to the European Council summit on December 10-11, and the meeting of the European Parliament Subcommittee on Human Rights on December 11 and the International Day for Human Rights on December 10, in which it collected a number from future policy recommendations, he addresses European Union policymakers on how to define relations with Turkey.

The Center called on European leaders in their next summit, on 10 and 11 December, to take all possible measures, including more sanctions, to put pressure the Turkish government to address these serious violations and end the interference in the national justice system.

The center said that Turkey must stop silencing and prosecuting opponents, artists, athletes and politicians and releasing political prisoners, noting that if Turkey refuses to improve the rule of law situation in order to renew the customs union between the European Union and Turkey, this will be a major reason pushing the political circles in the European Union to prolong Duration stalemate.

The center stressed that the European Union should investigate the ongoing reports of torture, ill-treatment and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment of Turkish journalists and human rights defenders in Turkey, because “the Turkish regime is still the pioneer in imprisoning journalists without a fair trial.”

The Center appealed to the Chair of the Human Rights Committee in the European Parliament, Maria Arena, to issue an explanatory statement before the European Council summit, about the current human rights situation in Turkey according to recent data and reports, and the recent violations against a large number of students, journalists and judges who refused the orders of the Turkish authorities.

The Center called on all human rights and international organizations to support victims of injustice and violations, including journalists, lawyers and prisoners of conscience in Turkey, and to work hard to put pressure the Turkish government to stop violating human rights.

The Director of the Brussels International Center for Research and Human Rights, which is based in the Belgian capital, Brussels, confirmed in his statement to ANHA agency that the international community and the European Union are accused of negligence towards the crimes of the current Turkish regime.
