Kurdistan Region demonstrations claim further victims

The wave of demonstrations all over the Kurdistan region since last week is claiming more victims among the demonstrators, as a number of demonstrators, including children, lost their lives and dozens were wounded by security forces' fire.

Today, Tuesday, a 12-year-old child lost his life in today's demonstration, in Sayed Sadiq district of Sulaymaniyah, while the demonstration is still continuing.

In the district of Tkiyeh, the demonstrators set fire to the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), then headed to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK's). Accordingly, the security forces fired live ammunition in an attempt to disperse them, resulting in killing one and the wounding of 4 others, of varying degrees.

This, and the demonstration continues in the district of Tkiyeh, while demonstrators surround the PUK office.

Qaladzi district, Piremegrun district and Zeryan district in Sharzo, Penguin district and Kalar district also joined the wave of protests in several regions of the Kurdistan region.

It is noteworthy that, on Monday, two other children lost their lives during the demonstrations that took place in separate areas in the Kurdistan region, and dozens were injured.
