Against the background of Erdogan selling 10% of the Istanbul Stock Exchange to Qatar, to save the Turkish economy after the aggravation of the economic crisis, the head of the Turkish Future Party Ahmet Davutoglu accused Erdogan of breach of trust.

The Turkish sovereign wealth fund announced, a week ago, that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Qatar Investment Authority to discuss and complete a possible deal whereby the device would buy 10% of the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

In a video clip he posted on Twitter, Davutoglu said that Erdogan had "betrayed the trust" and demanded that he return to his senses.

In his statements, Oglu said, "You cannot find a cover for this wreck, Mr. Erdogan, this country is not your stock exchange, nor your market, nor your store, Turkey is a country in which a nation lives, a nation made up of honest people."

And Oglu continued, saying, "It is not possible to forgive Erdogan for what he did, and no one can escape this devastation in the country by asking for forgiveness. Those who harm this country will be held accountable."

In his speech, he indicated that the architect of the corruption mechanism in Turkey is the Justice and Development Party, stressing the need to hold Erdogan accountable.

In a related context, Turkey's parliament, with the votes of the Justice and Development Party and the National Movement, rejected the opposition Republican People's Party's proposal to investigate the sale of 10% of the Istanbul Stock Exchange shares to Qatar.

For his part, Vice President of the Parliamentary Bloc in the CHP, Angen Ozkuch, criticized the Turkish government and how it managed some of the country's interests based on this agreement.

While the leader of the Republican People's Party, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, described the Turkish government's sale of 10% of the Istanbul Stock Exchange's share," stressing that it was sold at a low price, which Qatar could recover within a period of months.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, arrived in Ankara a few days ago to chair with Recep Tayyip Erdogan the meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee.
