Since its establishment in 2015, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) has been in touch with the Syrian political parties, for developing the Autonomous Administration and resolving the Syrian crisis, the latest of which was the "National Conference for the peoples of the Al-Jazeera and the Euphrates."

The conference was held on November 25th, with the participation of more than 300 independent political and party personalities, and civil society institutions. It ended in 17 recommendations and decisions for the development of Autonomous Administration (AA).

'AA represents hope for Syrians'

In this context, ANHA interviewed the Head of the Syrian National Society (SNA) Muhammad Bermo, who indicated that the AA is a creative project and builds on it as the nucleus of the third Syrian Republic, considering that it " a hope for all Syrians."

Bermo noted that AA and SDC efforts on the ground are role model in the absence of any opposition effective project at all levels and the ongoing Syrian crisis.

He called on all the forces and parties and Kurdish National Council in particular to side with AA project, following the initiative of the SDF's Commander-in-Chief, Mazlum Abdi.

He added, "We support General Abdi's initiative to bring together the Kurdish political parties towards unified Kurdish goals in Syria, and even in my meeting with General Mazloum, I sought the extent of his support and his companions for the success of this initiative, and we hope that all parties will support the AA experience."

The SNS's head considered that it is not wise to go back and start from zero and said: “The experience is now a matured one, so it is necessary to build on it. I advise everyone to work on its development. "

Patriotic speech

In his speech, Bermo touched on the importance of the "National Conference for the Peoples of the Al-Jazeera and the Euphrates" under the SDC sponsorship, and said: "The importance of the conference does not stem only from the gathering of all Syrians, but rather from its democratic logic and method of self-criticism. "

He continued: “The AA’s presentation of its self-criticism and its request for all cooperation and support for success of this project, is the democratic and sound logic that all Syrians aspire.”

Bermo considered that the SDC's speech is a “patriotic discourse par excellence,” stressing that all Syrians desperately need it in this difficult phase, and said: “We need it at a stage in which the Syrian society is shattered as a result of the injustice and oppression by the regime and the Syrian radical opposition disperse the Syrians' dreams of establishing their democratic, secular state.

The Istanbul opposition planted mistrust among Syrians

Bermo pointed out that the Syrian crisis is very complex, but these events breaks down barriers between Syrians. He said in this context: “Syrians have a problem centered on our fear of each other, as a result of legacy of 50 years of totalitarian chauvinist rule. He added, the opposition of Istanbul created a kind of distrust. "

He added, "Therefore, today we need to build bridges of trust, and bet on Syrian national figures because many Syrian political figures' democratic ideas can be built on a beautiful homeland befitting the smart blood that was offered. "

SDC is the first to communicate with all parties to solve the crisis

In his speech, Bermo touched on the continuous efforts of the Syrian Democratic Council to reach a solution to the Syrian crisis, noting that SDC was a forerunner in the Syrian revolution, in dialogue with all other Syrian parties to find a peaceful solution to the crisis.

He continued, saying, "Neither the coalition nor any other political opposition force negotiate with other political forces, nor did we see the coalition, nor the National Society before it, who worked openly and cooperatively with other political forces. On the contrary, they dealt as a closed elite club."

And he stressed that the Syrian government is the only one who undertook dialogue and openness, unlike those other parties.

Bermo explained that the SDC workshops in Europe were in this endeavor, and included all political spectrum from the opposition and many other independent personalities, indicating that what caught everyone’s attention was the "absorption of all observations and criticisms."

He emphasized that this understanding, access to observations and openness "proved that nations are built on these principles and that SDC is serious about solving the Syrian crisis."

'Syrians must know their enemies'

Bermo demanded that the Syrian people stand together and know their true enemies, considering that the enemies of the Syrian people are the Syrian regime and its benefiting ruling gangs, and the radical organizations that were imported from abroad, such as ISIS, the Al-Nusra Front, those who want to break up the Syrians and take them as mercenaries from the days of the red lines to the present day - in reference to Turkey. "

A call to Arab countries to support the AA

In the conclusion of his speech, the head of the Syrian National Society Muhammad Bermo appealed to the Arab countries, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan, to support the experience of northeast Syria, which the Syrians see as a nucleus suitable for building a modern state for the third Syrian Republic, and as a secular democratic federal state and as a democrat model in the region as a whole.
