Republican Senator Ted Cruz, a member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, called by submitting a bill to Congress, on Wednesday, to place the "Brotherhood" on the terrorism list.

“The organization is responsible for financing and promoting terrorism,” Cruz said, stressing that it would continue to work to take action against groups that finance terrorism.

And Cruz made clear that presenting the law to Congress strengthens the United States' position in its war against terrorist and extremist groups, and combating the spread of threats resulting from hard-liners.

He added, "Many of our allies in the Arab world concluded, long ago, that the Brotherhood was a terrorist group that seeks to sow chaos in the Middle East."

The Council of Senior Scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently considered the organization a "deviant terrorist group" that does not represent the approach of Islam.
