The Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries continue to destroy the nature of Afrin canton, which Turkey has occupied since March 18, 2018.

Turkey uproots olive trees, the main source of income for indigenous people of the canton, as well as burning forests in occupied Afrin, in a systematic process to destroy the nature of the region and its economy.

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin documented the cutting and uprooting of 7 thousand olive trees last November, in the village of Maidanki in Shara district.

The Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries cut down trees in order to trade their wood.

In the same context, the occupation army and its mercenaries uprooted, on the date of last November 19, 350 olive trees in the village of Qazel Pasha in Bulbul district.

According to unofficial statistics, the number of olive trees uprooted and cut down since the beginning of the Turkish occupation has reached 280,000, and the number may be greater than that, due to the difficulty in obtaining confirmed information from the occupied canton.
