Qeresu: We call for democratic elections in Şengal

Mustafa Qeresu spoke on (Medya Haber) channel about the agreement signed between the Baghdad government and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and its repercussions, he said, "They are always wondering, what the PKK will do! You must recognize the Yazidis' Autonomous Administration in Şengal, and not recognize the PKK Autonomous Administration."

Yazidis were not a party to sign this agreement

He said that "the Yazidis component has rejected the agreement concluded between Iraqi Government and KDP, this agreement is being rejected by Yazidis because they were not party to sign this agreement, the Yazidi community were exposed to the 74 massacres, is imminent to be eradicated in full, so they were aware form these acts, they do not want to be subject another massacre, that cause to the eradication of the Yazidi community, all the interests and ambitions of the Yazidi people must be respected and admission of their will."

"Is it possible for anyone to believe that the Yazidi people are about to form an independent state?"

He wondered, why this admission of the Autonomous Administration in Şengal has been rejected, saying, "Is this Autonomous Administration hostile to anyone? Aren't there models of AA in the world? Why don't European countries and the United States pay attention to AA model in Şengal. Is it possible for anyone to believe that the Yazidi people are about to form an independent state? This matter is unthinkable.

He was surprised by the position of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), which is hostile to the Autonomous Administration in Şengal: “Does the Autonomous Administration in Şengal pose any threat to the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Kurdistan Regional Government? They were supposed to provide support and assistance to it, but on the contrary, being excluded, they are talking about sending 10 thousand federal police forces! Why all these reinforcements? The people of Şengal and the surrounding area are able to protect themselves and the security of the region, so I say it frankly, it is not right to comply with the demands of the Turkish occupation, as the Turkish occupation state practices a policy of extortion in this subject."

The important thing is for the Yazidi community to run itself by itself'

He confirmed that the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) forces had actually withdrawn from Şengal in the past, and said: “The PKK withdrew from Şengal, and we say that there must be in Şengal AA model, it does not matter much which party will run it from the Yazidi parties, most importantly is that the Yazidi community runs itself by itself, and that there be AA, and the Yazidis loyal to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) as well as those loyal to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (YNK) must demand AA; why do they not demand it yet? The Yazidi community manages itself and defends its existence by itself. The tragic events of 2014 would not have happened in this way, and if AA had established at that time, it would have been a protective shield for the Yazidi people.

 'The Iraqi government's recognition of the Autonomous Administration in Şengal, will constitute a democratic change.'

He called on the Iraqi government to give priority to the language of dialogue with the Yazidi community, and said: “The Iraqi government must solve the problems through dialogue with the Yazidi people in Şengal, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party must also show respect towards the Autonomous Administration in Şengal, this matter gives and added value for Iraq and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and the Iraqi government's recognition of the Autonomous Administration in Şengal, it will constitute democratic change in Iraq and this will be in the interest of all of Iraq.

AA is natural right of a people facing the threat of genocide

He demanded recognition of the Autonomous Administration in Şengal, and said: “Our position is clear on the issue of Autonomous Administration in Şengal, which is a natural right for a people facing the threat of genocide, because this is an issue of morals and human conscience, and some are wondering, what the PKK will do! You must recognize AA of the Yazidis in Şengal, not AA of the PKK. We call for democratic elections in Şengal, and the winning side of the Yazidis in these elections will assume the Autonomous Administration in Şengal.

In the conclusion of his speech, stressed that protecting the Yazidi people and showing respect for their will and AA which is a moral responsibility of all concerned.
