French Embassy in Lebanon said that France will hold a conference today to support the Lebanese and assess new needs, to be chaired by Macron and Guterres.

BEIRUT

The French embassy in Lebanon distributed a statement issued by the Elysee Palace, which included information about the conference in support of the Lebanese people.

According to the statement, the conference will be chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, via video technology in support of the Lebanese people, at 18:30.

The conference will be attended via video technology by heads of state, international organizations, multilateral donors, non-governmental organizations and representatives of Lebanese civil society.

The conference, which will be held approximately 4 months after the Beirut port explosion, aims to assess the aid provided by the international community and the methods of its distribution since the August 9th conference, in order to assess new needs and work to meet them in the context of the crisis in Lebanon.
