Iran announces its commitment with nuclear deal, if sanctions lifted

On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on the nuclear deal: "There is something that can be done automatically and does not require any conditions or negotiation. US implements its obligations under Resolution 2,231, and we implement our obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action."

He added in an interview with "Iran" newspaper: "This matter does not require any negotiations or conditions, and it can be done."

US President-elect, Joe Biden, promised to move towards joining the nuclear deal with Iran if it returned to compliance, but Biden also made clear that implementing this step is very difficult.

Zarif found that Biden's desire to return to the agreement is "very good," and stressed that "in the event that Washington returns to its commitments, what we will do will be quick, and this means that we will return to our commitments, and this matter does not need to be negotiated."

In 2018, US President Donald Trump decided to withdraw from the nuclear agreement with Iran, and subsequently imposed economic sanctions on Tehran.

It is noteworthy that the agreement concluded between Iran on the one hand, and the United States, France, Britain, China, Russia and Germany on the other hand, made it possible to lift the sanctions imposed on Iran in exchange for reducing its nuclear activities.
