Sirte meetings conclude 2nd day with committee to oversee mercenaries’ exit

Media outlets quoted a member of the Government of National Accord delegation to the committee, Mukhtar Al-Naqasa, as saying that "the most prominent thing that was discussed in today's session is the withdrawal of foreigners, the removal of mines, the start of the forces' return to their camps and the opening of the coastal road."

He added that the headquarters of the meetings (the Ouagadougou halls complex) had only security forces. He explained that the committees responsible for supervising the exit of mercenaries have been formed and pointed out that they are together to develop the implementation plan.

The Arab Network reported that the sixth round, which started on Tuesday, is looking into a number of security and military files, including a complete ceasefire, as stipulated in the Geneva and Ghadames Agreement.

The committee is discussing files, including the withdrawal and dismantling of armed groups from the contact lines near the cities of Sirte and Misurata, beyond the Bouqrain area.

The meetings will also discuss the exit of foreign and mercenary elements from the Libyan territories, the formation of the two security chambers to fully implement the ceasefire in accordance with the Geneva and Ghadames Agreement, and the opening of the main roads and crossings linking the Libyan cities.
