Welt Hunger Hilfe alleges restoration works in Afrin stopped

Ibrahim Sheikh, spokesperson for Human Rights Organization – Afrin –Syria, had said that Turkish State promoted settling newcomers in houses belong to indigenous people of Afrin, under humanitarian pretexts, so in this relation, ''Welt Hunger Hilfe'', that is bases in the Turkish city of Dilok (Gaziantep), proposed a tender to clad and restore 400 homes in the city of Afrin and that of Azaz to shelter settlers and mercenaries' families.     

Sheikh added that :'' 28 organizations and cities signed a protest memo that was sent to the management of ''Welt Hunger Hilfe'' in Germany in both Arabic and German languages in which we expressed our protest at works on part  the company at the homes of the people of Afrin with the aim to shelter  settlers and mercenaries' families.

Sheikh went on that cladding and restoration works at the part of ''Welt Hunger Hilfe'' aim at Afrin's displaced in Shahba Canton who live  in 5 camps and dilapidated homes.

Answering this, ''Welt Hunger Hilfe'' issued a statement to the public opinion alleging that till now it has never restored a house, and that after studying the region status regarding people the project was stopped.   

The organization alleged that :'' till now no house was restored, as in early projects, weeks ago we analyzed and studied the humanitarian situation in the area, that was discussed with local committees in Afrin and UN organizations, on which it was decided that it is not useful to rebuilt dilapidated houses''.  

Adding :'' we had reasonable suspicions whether our primary principles for humanitarian help such as neutrality must be abided by in such specific conditions''.
