Since occupation of Afrin on March 18, 2018, the Turkish occupation state has committed heinous crimes. The eyewitness, Sara, who spoke on anonymity, managed to leave Afrin through some smugglers. She explained that mercenaries of the Turkish state arrested her in early April 2018 on charges of dealing with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) at first, and then accused me of hiding weapons. she said: After conducting searches in my house, they arrested me again found less. "

Sara says, "They took me to Turkey's Kilis, after which they put me before a court, and then imprisoned me in Afrin later."  Detainees were subjected to brutal torture. "

" 'I myself witnessed how four young men were slaughtered between aged 25 and 30 in Kilis city prison, on charges of joining the Internal Security Forces in Afrin before the occupation. An elderly man also lost his life due to severe torture. "she confirmed.

Sara was kept in prison for 5 months; she had no access to water and food. Sara says: "They fed us pork and rotten food."

"Torturing them is halal because they are Kurds!"

Sara explained that the mercenaries were constantly trying to harass and torture women in brutal ways, hitting them with whips and putting them in wheels.

Sultan Murad and Ahrar al-Sham mercenary factions of the Turkish occupation state were working in the so-called civil police in the city of Azaz were committing these crimes, and they used to say that "torturing Kurdish women is halal."

Sara revealed that she witnessed torturing four women from a nearby village to our village in Afrin. One of them was hung by her foot and beaten until she fainted.

International reports documented the Turkish occupation mercenaries' crimes against women and children in both Afrin and Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain regions in particular, as the recent report of the International Independent Investigation Commission on Syria stated that the Turkish occupation state is holding in its prisons no less than 49 Kurdish women from Serêkaniyê and Afrin, while video footage posted on social media earlier showed that members of the so-called 22nd Division (Hamza Brigade) detained 11 Kurdish women, including a baby.

Sara confirmed that 23 women, 20 elderly and nearly 50 children who aged 5 to 12 years were in the same prison, and says: "The mercenaries were torturing children and capturing them to serve them."

'I hardly saved my life'

Sara noted, "I was released after the charges against me were proven null."

Sara is now unable to return to Afrin due to security situation. She explained: "I am afraid that I will be arrested, tortured and kidnapped again, because I had hard time to get out of Afrin through some smugglers to Kobani."

Sara appealed to the people not to return to Afrin until its liberation, and called on international and human rights organizations to expose the crimes against humanity in Afrin.
