On Thursday, a Republican aide in US congress revealed that the United states is preparing a new batch of sanctions to be imposed on the Iranian financial industry as soon as possible, according to Reuters news agency.

This comes as Washington intensifies its pressure on Tehran weeks before the US elections scheduled for November 3.

According to Reuters this step could deter Iran from joining the international monetary sector, after Washington had declared last month the ''return'' or resumption of almost all the United Nations sanctions on Iran, a confirmation that was rejected by the main European allies, and the pro- Iranian states in the Security Council, Russia and China.

Tensions are escalating between Washington and Tehran since Trump withdrew unilaterally in 2018 from the Iranian nuclear treaty that was concluded previously, and began to re-impose sanctions that were reduced according to the treaty.

Iranian oil exports were reduced, the main resource of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, the OPEC, member state, to its lowest levels in decades recently this year.

According to experts the Thursday measure may affect the Tehran ability to secure ''even humanitarian goods such as medicines'', but the American Administration rejected such claims stressing repeatedly that its sanctions don’t include the humanitarian aids and helped Tehran within the Covid- 19 pandemic, the step that was totally rejected by the regime.

Trump re-imposed American sanctions on everything, beginning with oil, shipment and financial activities.

While medicines and foods among other humanitarian supplies were exempted, many foreign banks are forbidden from dealing with the Republic.
