The Women's Committee of the Kurdistan National Congress KNK issued a statement regarding the massacre committed by the Turkish state on Tuesday 23 June in the village of Halanj in Kobani.

The statement said that the occupied Turkish state continues its attacks on Rojava, Şengal, Mexmûr and the Kurdistan region and wants to extend its authority over women and humanity.

The committee strongly condemned the massacre of Halanj village, in which the two coordinating members of the Kongra Star, Zahra Berkel and Badia Mulla Khalil for the Euphrates region and mother Amina Wessi were martyred.

The occupation targets our existence

The statement said: With the increased awareness of women and the organization of themselves, the fears of the forces opposing them increase, because the women who maintain their presence target them the occupier, especially in this month of June, the targeting of Kurdish women and the Kurdish people has increased everywhere, the genocidal attacks have become limitless, also targeting women politicians and organizations is targeting women's future.

For this, we call on all women of the world, feminist organizations, and the Kurdish people to define their position on these attacks, support the resistance of Kurdish women, intensify their activities, and raise the level of struggle against fascism that aims to kill organized women.

We emphasize ensuring the freedom of women and the people

Once again, we strongly condemn these barbaric attacks, and pledge to fight and walk on the path of Zahra, Hebon and Amina's mother and the faithful mother until removing the mindset of the occupier, this attack strengthens our resolve and our quest for freedom and strengthens our organization and our struggle, and we affirm the guarantee of freedom for women and people.
