Aram Hanna: Escalation aims to expand occupied area

The Member of the General Command of the Syriac Military Council Aram Hanna pointed out that the military escalation of the Turkish occupation aims to expand the occupation and target the region and its people again, noting that the occupation does not adhere to the international agreements, calling on the international community to stop the Turkish occupation and its expansionist dream.

For several days, the Turkish occupation army has been gathering its forces and mercenary forces from the so-called "Syrian National Army" in the contact lines in Tel Tamr and Zarkan countryside as indicators of a new military escalation targeting the region, and to complete its colonial scheme in the region.

On Turkish rallies, Aram Hanna, the Member of the General Command of the Syriac Military Council told Hawar news agency that the escalation and military movements of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries in Tel Tamr and Zarkan, and more in the villages adjacent to the international road / M4 / are a step to complete its occupational scheme.

"We know the Turkish ideology and its schemes. They attack us today as ISIS, but with new names, and if they occupy our areas, the damage that ISIS left behind in the region in 2015 will return," he added.

From 1915 till now, Turkey is the primary enemy of the peoples of the region

Aram Hanna considered that the Turkish state over the past years and decades to the present time is the first enemy of the region, and continued: "Since 1915, the Turkish hostility towards the peoples of the region began in a clear and public way through the massacres committed against the Syriac, Assyrian and Armenian people to reach the massacres committed in both Afrin, Serêkaniyê, Girê Spî."

Hanna pointed out that the attacks of the Turkish occupation on the northern and eastern regions of Syria are false arguments. He said: "The Turkish occupation launched its military operations against Afrin canton and the cities of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, accusing the Turkish occupation of being against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as separatist forces aimed at dividing Syria, the establishment of an independent entity, in addition to the threat to its national security, but all these allegations were flimsy arguments to justify its colonial ambitions in the region."

Hanna stressed that the peoples of the region with their various components joined together and did not call for separation. Their goal was protecting the region and its peoples. He continued saying: "Turkey aims to strike the co-existence among the people of the region and the model of the brotherhood of peoples and to undermine the gains that have been achieved by the sacrifices made by the people of the region."

The Turkish occupation does not abide by the agreements and aims to expand the scope of its occupation

In the context of his speech, Aram Hanna recalled the agreement concluded between the Russian forces and the Turkish occupation state during their military operation that they launched on the cities and regions of northern and eastern Syria, which stipulated the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces from the entire border and the deployment of the border guard forces of the Syrian government forces, indicating that despite the implementation of the terms of the agreement, the Turkish occupation state continues with flimsy arguments to expand the occupation and target other regions for imposing the Turkification policy and changing its demographics at all levels, as it does in the areas under its control in Syria.

Our forces bear the responsibility to protect the peoples of the region, and the resistance is our only option

Hanna noted that they in the Syriac Military Council's Forces and the forces related to the Syrian Democratic Forces bear the responsibility of their people, the protection of their villages and regions, and resistance in the face of all hostile forces.

"We declare that we are fully prepared for any emergency, and our forces are ready to stand side by side with all the forces under the banner of the Syrian Democratic Forces," he added.

We call on the international community and coalition to stop the Turkish attacks on the region

The Member of the General Command Committee of the Syriac Military Council, Aram Hanna, sent a message to the international community in general and the international coalition forces in particular, through which he called to stop the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its threats that affect significantly in the region and its peoples, in an attempt to weaken them and break their morale, in addition to destroying the peoples' fraternity and co-existence project in the region, which was founded with the blood of more than 12 thousand martyrs.

At the end of his speech, Hanna stressed that they do not call for war, but if it does occur, they will resist and face all the hostile forces till the last breath.
