Afrin people: Turkish occupation targets our livelihood

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries deliberately target civilians in the villages and suburbs of Al-Shahba and Shirawa district villages almost daily, to commit further massacres against them.

The Turkish occupation shells affect agricultural crops and educational centers in particular the infrastructure in the area, as they did in Afrin previously.

Today, the villages of Mingh and Beneh in ​​Tal Refaat and Deir Jamal, Sogana, Qeba in the areas of Shira, Shirawa and Tal Refaat, were attacked by more than 40 shells by the Turkish occupation. Resulting in the burning of large areas of land planted with wheat and barley crops.

In the mentioned villages, the people rushed to put out the fires, while the Turkish occupation forces targeted civilians and prevented them to put out the fires.

Waheed Hamido, the administrator of the Shirawa, District Council said that the Turkish occupation has shelled more than 40 shells since this morning, in the villages of Shirawa, Shira and Al-Shahba, resulting in the burning of large areas of agricultural fields in the region.
Hamido noted that the Turkish occupation seeks to deprive the people of their agricultural crops  which are a source of livelihood for the people of the region.

Hamido pointed out that the people are afraid of the bombing, which affects their livelihood and cannot approach them to put out the fires.

As for Muhammad Gubari, he said: "We woke up this morning to the sounds of Turkish occupation shells that hit our villages and agricultural lands."

Gubari noted that the people went to extinguish the fires, except for the Turkish occupation, which reoccupied the area.

Gubari stressed that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries intend to "set fire to our crops so that we do not benefit from them. This is not the first time that the Turkish occupation has targeted the villages of Shirawa district."

In the area of ​​Tal Rifaat, a number of displaced students condemned the crimes of the Turkish occupation against civilians, calling on the international community to intervene and put an end to the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

Zeylan Habbo indicated that "the Turkish occupation targets us almost daily to prevent us from continuing our education."

Habbo stressed that the occupation targets students and children in particular and commits massacres against them and the destruction of civilian homes to displace them again, as it had done previously.
Hebbo emphasized that the displaced people of Afrin will not give in to the Turkish occupation, and that their resistance continues in the face of Turkish aggression until the occupation is removed from the Syrian territories.

For his part, student Ahmed Muhammed denounced the violations of the Turkish occupation against the displaced families in Tal Refaat district, and pointed out that the Turkish occupation wants to undermine the will of the people of the region and create strife among all components in Syria.

He called on international and human rights organizations to stop the Turkish occupation crimes against civilians in Al-Shahba district and the villages of Shirawa district.
