In the context of dividing Syria and separating the areas occupied by Turkey from the rest of the Syrian territories, the occupation seeks in various ways to impose its hegemony and bring about a demographic change at all levels.

Building a concrete wall within the Syrian lands

In 2016, the Turkish occupation army penetrated into the Syrian territories from the areas of Jarabulus and al-Bab, passing through Mare' and Azaz under the pretext of fighting ISIS terrorist organization. After several months, Turkey's colonial intentions have been exposed day after day, working to hold secret meetings for the Turkmen families, luring the people with sums of money and distributing relief baskets to them to join the Turkmen factions and give all powers to the factions loyal to it (Turkmen).

Since that time, the Turkish occupation began to follow the Turkification policy, changing the demographics of the occupied areas by forcing the civilians to learn in Turkish and considering the Turkish language as an official language in the school curricula, pumping the Turkish currency into the markets, obliging the people to deal with it, in addition to changing their personal identity cards from Syrian to Turkish.

The Turkish occupation also changed the names of villages, landmarks, and public squares, and raised the Turkish flag and Erdogan pictures over all the mercenaries' institutions.

On the 18th of March of 2018, Turkey occupied Afrin canton and expelled all its indigenous residents, as it settled families from al-Ghouta and other areas of Syria in the civilians' homes. From here, Turkey's intentions revealed; occupying the Syrian north and separating its occupation areas from the rest of the Syrian territory.

The occupation worked on building a concrete wall in the occupied villages of Afrin canton, starting from Samaan Castle and ending at Bab al-Salamah crossing in Azaz area with a depth of 1 km in Shera and Bulbul districts.

In Baliya village which belongs to Bulbul district, Turkey occupied 315 meters from the Syrian lands, and in Za'rah village of Bulbul district, Turkey occupied a distance of 1 kilometer, built a concrete wall, controlled the strategic hills in that region, removed the civilians from their villages in Shera and Bulbul districts and settled Turkmen families instead of them with the aim of deducting parts of the Syrian lands, annexing them to Turkey and reviving the ambitions of its Ottoman ancestors.

Security chaos and fighting among the mercenary gangs in the occupied territories

The occupied areas are witnessing security chaos and fighting among the mercenary gangs, not to mention the cases of arbitrary kidnappings and killings of civilians with the aim of imposing royalties.

Turkey recently worked to support the Turkmen factions and exterminate other mercenary groups that do not implement Turkish agendas in the region.

On the other hand, the explosions disturb the people everywhere and endanger the lives of civilians, as the occupied areas have become ineligible for housing.

On the 18th of November of last year, the people in al-Bab and Jarabulus regions rose up against the Turkish occupation because of the immoral occupation practices against the civilians, but this uprising was suppressed by the factions operating under the direct order of the Turkish intelligence.

Violations against women

More recently, the Turkish occupation has intensified its violations against women in Afrin and the rest of the occupied territories, through the mercenary gangs among them al-Hamzat to blackmail their families, impose royalties on them, exercise physical and moral violence, destroy the entire societies, force women to wear the hijab and veil and prevent women from enjoying their freedom.

According to the statistics of the Human Rights Organization in Afrin, Syria, the number of women who were killed by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries reached 61, and more than 1,000 women were kidnapped. According to the organization, the statistics represents only 30% of women.

The economic situation

The regions occupied by Turkey are witnessing an exorbitant prices of the sale of foodstuffs in the Turkish currency and the lack of job opportunities in those areas, not to mention the robberies and thefts.

According to private sources, our agency made it clear that the price of one liter of black oil in the occupied areas amounted to 4 Turkish liras, the gas jar amounted to 50 Turkish liras, and the bread to 1500 Syrian pounds, and the price of the electricity amp to $ 2.

The Turkish occupation forced the civilians to deal in the Turkish currency only and not to trade the Syrian currency in the markets in support of the Turkish economy after its deterioration and on the other hand, with the aim of imposing its hegemony in the region.
