Ilham Ahmed: We must work hard to achieve economic success

The Syria Democratic Council held an expanded meeting that included members of the committees and directorates of the Civil Democratic Administration in Al-Tabqa and women's councils, as well as a number of families. This meeting comes within a series of separate meetings held by the Syria Democratic Council in the north and east of Syria to explain the latest developments and the economic implications that will result from the application of the US "Caesar Act".

The meeting was headed by the chair of the Executive Body of the Syrian Democratic Council, Ilham Ahmed, the co-chair of the Executive Council of Al-Tabqa region, Hind Al Ali, and the co-chair of the Legislative Council in Tabqa, Hamid Al Faraj.

Ahmed assessed the most prominent events that the regional has witnessed recently, and the nature of the political and the conflicting international forces in the Syrian arena, which turned it into a center for the exacerbation of the crisis.

Ahmed drew attention to the extent to which the project of Autonomous Administration has reached in international forums: "We have seen during the previous phase how we defeated ISIS and faced coronavirus pandemic successfully. We face the economic crisis, and hope that the administration will overcome it . "

She also explained: "The position of the Syria Democratic Council is biased towards the Syrian people in all its spectra. It is important for the Syrians to live their normal lives away from the conditions of war, fighting, displacement, injustice, tyranny and terrorism. This needs the solidarity of Syrians in all Syrian cities without exception to confront the economic and political crisis."

Regarding the mechanism to reduce the economic repercussions of "Caesar Act", she stressed that: "A committee of economic specialists has been formed to reduce the severity of the crisis on our regions. This crisis stems from an international crisis. It targets the Syrian economy for political purposes. "

At the end of the meeting, she answered the questions and inquiries raised by the attendees. The questions focused on the next stage in its political and military aspects, and the extent of the economic reality's reflection on it, and what are the ways that were put forward to find a way out of these challenges facing the region in general.

It is noteworthy that, on December 21, last year, US President Donald Trump signed the "Caesar Act for protecting the civilians in Syria of 2019, which imposes sanctions on the Syrian regime for war crimes committed in Syria.
