SDF announces of ending first stage Deterring Terrorism campaign, 100 ISIS' elements captured

On Wednesday, the SDF held a press conference on the results of Deterring Terrorism campaign launched by SDF on June 4 in al-Hasakah and Deir-ez-Zor countryside against ISIS mercenary cells.

A spokeswoman for Deir-ez-Zor Military Council, Lelwah Abdullah, read the statement issued by the Syrian Democratic Forces regarding the campaign, and it stated:

Deterring Terrorism campaign began on June 4, 2020 in the geography that extends from the southern countryside of al-Hasakah in Dashisha area adjacent to the Iraqi border and extending to the border of al- Baghouz region in line with the Euphrates and the Khabour River in the countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, and ended its first phase on June 10, 2020.

And in military coordination between our forces and the Iraqi government and with the participation of the coalition forces, to secure the border areas, maintain civil peace and secure the lives of people from the attacks of ISIS cells, which have intensified its activity recently, our forces have covered nearly 175 km in length and 60 km in width, which included more than 150 villages and farms.

Commandos and coalition forces raided 65 locations and targets of ISIS cells, and during raids and combing operations our forces arrested 110 terrorists and suspects of dealing with cells.

Our forces also seized large quantities of various weapons, including pistols with silencers, and seized quantities of materials that make explosives and large quantities of homemade explosives.

During the combing operations, a division of our forces was exposed to resist from one of ISIS cells, and our forces dealt with it militarily, and the situation was controlled.

There are no casualties or injuries among our forces during the campaign period. "
