​​​​​​​My father and brothers' murderers in 2013 displaced us with Turkish occupation

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries' attacks on northeast Syria and Idlib bring the Syrian crisis back to the first scenario of suffering without any change that provides a safe and stable life for Syrians. 

Serêkaniyê /Ras al-Ain was frequently attacked like many other Syrian cities by Jabhat al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and ISIS mercenaries in 2013, until it was liberated by the YPG in 2015.

Villagers who have been under the control of mercenary groups and ISIS mercenaries for years bear heavily the tragic memories of those days, especially those who lost their families and relatives at the hands of these mercenary groups.

Ali Mohammed Biro, is a villager from Um al-Khair village in Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain area. He fled his village during the Turkish occupation attacks on October 9, 2019. He is living at Washokani camp in Al-Hasakeh with his family. 

Asking Ali about the period under the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, he said, "They killed my father and two of my brothers." We expected that they had been killed in the recent attacks on the region. When we inquired how this had happened, he invited us to sit in his tent to tell us the story.

"We have been displaced from our village for the second time. We were also displaced in 2013 when the so-called terrorist Free Army burned, destroyed and looted houses, displaced its inhabitants and committed a massacre in which 19 people, including two of my brothers and my father martyred," said Biro.

Biro said that he was also shot four times, "he was reborn." It is true that he did not die then, but he lost the most beloved members of his family to suffer forever.

"We lived in tragedy with the so-called Free Army who joined ISIS later. They turned our life into hell and blackness until our villages liberation in 2015. We were reborn then," he said.

 "We have been attacked for the second time after we were attacked by the Turkish occupation and mercenaries about seven months ago."

At the beginning, we expected skirmishes and after a short period, we would go back to our homes, but it turned to be continuous status for unknown period" he said.

"The same mercenaries who killed my family's members and attacked us in 2013 were part of ISIS. They  attacked and displaced us in 2019 with Turkey's support," he said.

"After the liberation of our region from the mercenary groups and ISIS, our lives and affairs settled under the Autonomous Administration," Biro said.

 Now the only hope that thousands of displaced people have is returning home and feeling safe and secure again.
