Between for and against clinics closing, views unified

to prevent the Corona pandemic outbreak in the areas of northern and eastern Syria, the Autonomous Administration issued a number of decisions such as the shutdown and sterilization of border crossings, institutions and schools. Gatherings were also banned curfew in all areas, as well as clinics.

On this subject, ANHA agency surveyed the citizens views who complained of the few doctors and health centers.

"The curfew is a positive step, as there were large gatherings and this is a danger to the lives of the people," said Welat Khalil, a resident.

 "If the pandemic spreads here, the hospitals are open, and the doctors are doing their duty and staying in the hospital despite the closure of their clinics," Khalil said.

"We suffer from a lack of open clinics. The hospital is clean and provides the necessary care for us and the curfew extension is in the interest of the people against this virus outbreak." Sultana al-Ahmad said:

"The number of medical staff here is small, so it must be increased, and clinics closure has a negative impact on citizens and patients," said Madlol al-Ibrahim, a citizen said.

To compensate for clinics shutdown, Ibrahim asked the concerned authorities to ask doctors to work in the exempted health centers from the curfew, in addition to the People Hospital and other hospitals in the city. Al Madlol demanded.

"My uncle needs a breast doctor, because he has an emphysema. We have been here for three days in vain." Ahmed Hassan, a resident of Marda, said.

Hassan pointed out that the clinics shutdown has had a negative impact on some citizens, as the patients cannot have treatment because of the absence of doctors in public and private hospitals.

"There should be an increase in the number of medical staff in the hospital. Every day they say tomorrow, but there is no use," Hassan said.

Ismail Hassan said: "We have closed all clinics to prevent gatherings, which is a positive thing to prevent the spread of the virus in our areas."

Hassan welcomed these complaints, explaining, "This is for their own benefit. The People Hospital is open to all and the doctors whose clinics are closed come here to help us and this decision was made by the Health Authority in northern and eastern Syria and we have implemented it." 

Hassan said some doctors who have not contracted with the hospital "are contacted and come immediately and this thing is free". 

"We are obliged to receive anyone who suffers from anything and to carry out the necessary tests,"  he added.
