Southern Idlib: Regime is advancing; Turkey mobilizing more troops

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Russian warplanes continue to intensively bomb Hama and Idlib.

The warplanes targeted on Sunday midnight- today- places in Ahsam, Al-Barah, Fatira, Kokbah, Mahambel, Kafr Nubel, Hazaren, Baskala, and the vicinity of Maarat Haramah in Idlib countryside, and Shir Maghar in Hama countryside, in conjunction with missile strikes carried out by the regime forces renewed in the same areas.

On the other hand, the regime forces continued their advance south of Idlib with a Russian air cover, and managed to nibble more areas, bringing the number of areas under their control during the last hours to 7, namely: Sheikh Dams, Hantoutine, Al-Rakaya, Tal Al-Nar, Kafr Sijnah, Sheikh Mustafa and Al-Naqir.

Simultaneously, the Turkish occupation forces set up 4 new military points belonging to them in each of Ahsim, near Kansafra, between Kansafra and Al Barah, and near Bamis, all located in southern Idlib countryside.

A Turkish military convoy consisting of more than 100 vehicles entered Syria last midnight and headed towards Jabal Al-Zawiya area.

These developments come in the light of Russian and Turkish efforts’ failure to reaching an understanding about the escalation in Idlib through three rounds of discussions, in addition to a telephone call between Putin and Erdogan.

Kremlin accused Turkey yesterday of not fulfilled its pledges made at the Sochi meeting.
