ISF, community protection forces' role in protecting Zarkan district

Zarkan district of Serêkaniyê city is under constant attack by the Turkish army and its mercenaries. The concentration of mercenaries is about 1 km from the district center, where populated areas are targeted, villages under mercenary control are being looted, and ISF, Community Protection Forces and Women's Protection Forces are working to protect the security of Zarkan district, and its countryside.

To talk about the tasks and responsibilities of the Internal Security Forces and the Community Protection Forces, our agency met with members of these forces.

The people of this land are defending it

Mohamed Ali joined the Community Protection Forces four years ago, saying their main goal is to protect the land and the people from attacks, adding that "members of the Community Protection Forces are deployed in Zarkan district to protect the neighborhoods." The enemies are trying to occupy our territory, and we will not stand idly by, they do not want to achieve our unity, and they are constantly seeking to sow discord and discrimination among the peoples of the region.

Therefore, in order to face the occupation, we must strengthen our unity and solidarity, because with our unity we will be able to block the way of the enemies, and no matter how long the occupation continues to target us and attack us, we will not give up our right to defend our areas, we are the suns of this people, and our primary duty is to protect and defend our land. The whole world must see how the people of Rojava are defending their land, a world that stands silent in the face of the massacres committed against this people."

Vanguard women repelled fierce attacks

Member of the Society Protection Forces - Woman Suad Mulla said: Women will always be at the forefront in facing enemies and occupiers, and she added: "Our land is our honor, and we will defend it, and our participation in protecting the region gives the people morale, and we are happy with the will of women, even our children are proud of us, as we emerged in such difficult circumstances and cold climates in order to protect our people.

We've responded to sleeper cells' attacks

Member of the Civil Security Forces in Zarkan district Ahmed Sheikhmus stated that Zarkan district and its countryside are under attack by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and he added "There are many sleeper cells of mercenaries in the area, and we are working to protect our people and areas from these cells, we have many checkpoints in the area," In the course of our daily work, we were able to arrest many of them, these mercenaries were trying to plant mines in the positions of our forces, they had other efforts and attempts among the people, they were working to sow discord and discrimination, and they were passing on information about our positions of concentration to mercenaries.

We call on our people who have been displaced from their homes and land to return to it, we can protect them and defend them, many of us have fallen martyrs and wounded in our response to the attacks, but we have not abdicated our responsibilities and committed ourselves to the approach of our martyrs.

Mercenaries are targeting civilians as well as ISF, where one civilian was injured a few days ago, and we are also patrolling 24 hours a day.
