ISF and municipality mobilize in Derik due to heavy snowfall

Since yesterday evening nd until now, snow is still falling in Derik region and its villages in northern Syria, which have led to almost complete paralysis, and the traffic has stopped amid a complete closure of the shops.

Traffic to and from Derik was halted, in addition to the disruption of schools according to a decision by the Education Authority, in addition to the closure of the Semalka crossing as a result of heavy snow.

Since the morning hours this morning, the Internal Security Forces, the relief and traffic forces, and the People's Municipality in Derik have been mobilized after the snowfall, which reached a height of more than 55 centimeters, to put all machineries in service to open the roads for easy passage within the city and the villages surrounding it.

In this regard, the co-chair of the People's Municipality in Derik Vermez Hamo said: "As a result of heavy snowfall, the streets were closed and the electricity was cut off from some neighborhoods, so the services and drivers staff in the People's Municipality rushed and headed since the morning to the roads that lead to the villages near the city to maintain the safety of drivers and the people and open the roads. "

Hamo continued: "The services department completely cleaned the main and subsidiary streets in Derik, while the damaged electricity networks were quickly repaired by the Electricity Department in coordination with the People's Municipality."

On the traffic and traffic mechanism, Kamiran Shabi, responsible for the roadblocks, confirmed, "The Internal Security Forces, traffic and relief forces have mobilized to close some sub-streets to protect the residents," adding that the members of the Internal Security Forces at the city's entry and exit barriers are instructing drivers to adhere to special speed in these weather conditions.

This snowfall continues until Monday evening with the mobilization of the municipality of the people and the ISF, traffic and rescue forces.
