Today, during a cabinet meeting, the Israeli Prime Minister announced his readiness to launch a major military campaign against the Gaza Strip.

On his part, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said: Netanyahu's announcement to start drawing new maps according to the deal of the century is an extension of the American-Israeli aggression, calling on the Palestinian people to "intensify the resistance."

Barhoum said in a statement: "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the start of US-Israeli cooperation to draw new maps, to annex settlements in the West Bank to Israeli sovereignty, as an extension of the American-Israeli aggression on the rights of our Palestinian people, and they should bear the results and repercussions of the continuation of this aggression."

For his part, the movement's spokesman, Abdellatif al-Qanoua, affirmed that "the practical response to Netanyahu's announcement of starting new maps according to the deal of the century is the escalation of resistance in all its forms against the occupation, and the withdrawal from the Oslo agreement."

A Hawar News Agency correspondent in Gaza had previously quoted an informed source that the Palestinian factions had decided to enter a state of attrition with the Israeli army to pressure the mediators and the Israeli government on the truce understandings, through the policy of "dotting the missile."

"Every day, shells are launched towards Israeli cities and military sites, while also preparing to proceed in this case, even if it leads to a new round of fighting with the Israeli army," he said.

These developments come against the background of US President Donald Trump's announcement of the deal of the century, which has provoked regional and international reactions.
