Nazira Korea: We will work to avoid deficiencies, create attachment to Washokani camp

In the context of following up the situation of the displaced people from the border areas due to the Turkish attack - which is still ongoing - on the north and east of Syria, a delegation from the Democratic Autonomous Administration for Jazeera region visited Washokani camp west of the city of Hasaka.

The delegation included the Autonomous Administration Advisor in al-Jazeera region, Dilber Yusef, the co-chair of the Executive Council in al-Jazeera region, Nazira Korea, and Talat Younis, Camps Advisor in al-Jazeera Region, Rojhat Ali, and Deputy Commission for Social Affairs and Labor in al-Jazeera Region, Mahmoud Cro.

The delegation was received by the administrative committee of the follow-up committee in Hasaka canton, Magda Amin, and the administrator in the Washokani camp, Khaled Khalou.

The delegation visited some families in the camp, to see the conditions of the displaced, and held meetings with them to know their requirements and needs, in addition to visiting the camp school to see the conditions of students and how to provide services and assistance to students and displaced people.

The co-chair of the Executive Council of al-Jazeera region, Nazira Korea, made it clear that their visit comes in the context of inspecting the conditions of the displaced, and to know their requirements and shortcomings that they need within the camp.

Nazira Korea said, "The camp situation is stable and good in general, but there are some things that must be by the Autonomous Administration, and everyone knows that the administration in coordination with the Kurdish Red Crescent has created this camp and it is providing assistance and supplies to these displaced people."

She also confirmed that they are seeking to work more to avoid the deficiencies in the camp, especially with regard to the winter season, and continued, "We hope for the speedy return of the displaced people to their lands, and send a message to all organizations in northern and eastern Syria to provide a helping hand to the displaced in Washokani camp."

Nazira noted that they are in the process of creating another extension for Washokani camp to accommodate the large numbers of displaced people, especially those in the shelter centers.
