Security Council meets today to discuss Idlib situation

The meeting will be held at the request of the United States, France, and Britain, during which the UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, will present the situation in the Idlib region, according to the sources.

On Tuesday, UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for a "cessation of hostilities" between Turks and Syrians, expressing "his deep concern about the nature of the conflict."

Russia and China each time, during the Syrian crisis, have blocked decisions to condemn the Syrian regime by using their veto power.

The battles raged in the strategic town of Saraqib, where the regime forces managed to storm them yesterday evening, so that the mercenary groups returned to enter the town with the direct support of the (Turkish observation point) north of Saraqib.

On Monday, unprecedented confrontations between the Turkish occupation forces and the Syrian regime resulted in the killing of a number of Turkish soldiers, while the Turkish president announced the bombing of several sites of the regime.

 Yesterday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave the Syrian regime until the end of this month to withdraw its forces from the vicinity of (observation points).

In its turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian regime responded to Erdogan's threats, and affirmed that he continues with a lying and misleading approach to protect terrorist groups.
