Hawar news agency interviewed the member of the Syrian Democratic Party Marwan Assaf al-Ahmed to talk about ways of solving the Syrian crisis and the need to strengthen the Syrian-Syrian dialogue.

ꞌThe solution to the Syrian crisis lies in dialogue, not in external interference'

Al-Ahmed said: "The only solution to the Syrian crisis must be through its people, not by the external interventions that achieve their interests and ambitions at the expense of the Syrian people."

Al-Ahmed added: "We believe that the Syrian-Syrian dialogue is the only way to resolve this crisis, and that the solution must be sprung from the people themselves because the external interventions serve the colonial ambitions of the country's internal riches and seek to prolong the struggle, so that the Syrian people are the fuel of this war."

On the recent attacks in Aleppo city in particular, al-Ahmed said: "Dozens of civilians, mostly children and women are martyred, as they are targeted by weapons provided by the external countries to the armed terrorist groups, including American weapons and Turkish-made Grad missiles."

Al-Ahmed pointed to the ethnic, religious and national diversity in Syria, pointing to the efforts of the Turkish state to sow discord among the components.

On the position of their party regarding the overall events taking place in the country, al-Ahmed said: "We, as a political party, oppose any foreign interference on the Syrian soil, and when the Turkish occupation attacked Afrin region, many young people volunteered to defend Afrin, and they sacrificed 73 martyrs in the Turkish air strikes because Afrin is a Syrian city with a unique geography."

Al-Ahmed called for strengthening brotherhood and coexistence among the Syrians, and said: "Syria cannot rise up while there are differences among its people, so they must agree on the unity of the Syrians and the Syrian lands, and that each region should enjoy its stamp and language. Syria is the Syrian Republic before being the Syrian Arabic Republic.

The Syrian Democratic Party’s member Marwan Assaf al-Ahmed concluded his speech by calling for the Syrian people to take action to confront the brute states that aim at prolonging the war."
