Al-Qaftan: Region’s circumstances oblige its components to join hands

Ibrahim al-Qaftan talked in an interview with our agency (ANHA) about the necessity of the components’ unity saying: "History has proven the unity of the Syrian components with their various ethnicities and races, but the stages of the central national regimes’ rule dispersed this unity and scattered its papers."

‘For building a free Syria, the other side must be accepted’

He continued his speech: "Therefore, these components must be returned to the reality of accepting the other side, so that we can build a free and decentralized Syria that respects the citizenship right which must be considered the basis for building a future Syria to be everybody’s Syria and not one’s without the other."

Al-Qaftan noted to the necessity of transforming the Syrian society from a society accepting the other into a political one that demands its political rights and performs its duties guaranteeing the optimal realization of the citizenship principle.

Al-Qaftan added: "The absence of unity of components today threatens to keep Syria in a long tunnel of conflict that ends only with the unity of the Syrians. Finding a solution to the crisis is at the hands of the people of Syria."

‘Turkey’s expansionist mentality targeted all Syrians’

Al-Qaftan made clear, "The Turkish occupier, with its expansionist mentality, did not target one component without another, as all the components were affected by its policies on the Syrian land. The negative impact of the Turkish intervention was not limited to the areas it occupied, but to the whole of Syria, and all of its people were affected by this occupation."

Ibrahim al-Qaftan pointed out, "Turkey intends to restore its Ottoman ambitions through its interference in the Arab region, and the dependence of some citizens of the region on its policies came on the basis of political Islam which Turkey advocates to serve its expansionist ambitions, but Turkey unfortunately offended the spirit of Islam based on the culture of accepting the other and respecting its belief."

‘Pluralism is wealth’

Al-Qaftan called for the necessity of unifying all components to preserve the unity of the Syrian lands, and create a new and pluralistic Syria that recognizes all components and ethnicities which are the wealth of any country."
