Iraqi jurist: International organizations turn blind eye to Ocalan, region peoples’ freedom issue

The Turkish state has been imposing an isolation on the Kurdish leader Abdulla Ocalan  since 2015, as the authorities prevent the lawyers and family from meeting him. The Iraqi political activist and human rights activist As’ad al-Abadi talked about the objectives of this isolation to Hawar news agency.

Al-Abadi commenced by saying: "The Turkish state accuses Mr. Abdullah Ocalan of terrorism for heading the liberation movement which is the need to live under a democratic system that assures a free and dignified life for all the components of the Turkish state, including the Kurdish nation."

He added, "Ocalan could obliterate with his views on the democratic nation many anti-democratic theories to form the solution in the Middle East in general and Turkey in particular, but the Turkish government does not approve the ideas of the democratic nation, and the co-existence with the components in Turkey because it depends on the nation-state system."

Ocalan's project is a solution to the problems of the Middle East

Al-Abadi said: "The leader Ocalan's project is a solution to the crisis witnessed  in the Middle East. If we had reproduced this experience in the Middle East such as Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey, the solutions to today problems would have been existed, but unfortunately, the current ruling regimes cannot accommodate such progressive proposition, which is contrary to the values of the democratic modernity and the capitalist system that continues to blackmail the peoples of the region, and tries to find something that opens the door to disagreement among the components and peoples of the Middle East."

‘Rojava-NE Syria experience is best solution to exit this dark tunnel’

As for Rojava - North and East Syria experience, al-Abadi pointed out that Rojava experience, the theory of the democratic nation and peoples’ brotherhood will be the best solution for the region, not a dark tunnel that the national and capitalist regimes often try to make it a fait accompli on these peoples, and therefore, consolidating the principle of dividing the divided and fragmenting the fragmented against what a big thinker like Abdullah Ocalan thinks."

"Turkey ended the negotiations course because it was approaching the solution"

With regard to the Turkish government's tightening the isolation on Abdullah Ocalan, al-Abadi confirmed: "After 2016, which was preceded by negotiations between the leader and the Turkish government representatives, those negotiations were quickly interrupted because they came close to the solution and opening a new door and a new path to democracy in Turkey. This puts the current Turkish rule headed by Erdogan in great embarrassment because they have always adopted Brotherhood concepts in government as well as the national psyche that characterizes Erdogan, the dreamer of going back to the Ottoman Turanian Empire, so it was certain that negotiations between the two sides would be over."

On the position of the Western countries and Israel, al-Abadi said: "The identification of the Western society, especially America came to push Israel, which has not forgotten Mr. Abdullah Ocalan’s stance on the Palestinian issue. This great revolutionary presented a project that is totally contrary to the hegemony of the colonial powers in the region, and blackmailing its people by controlling its wealth, as they are now doing with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states, in addition to that Turkey finds itself forced to sway with the U.S. and Israeli positions."

The Iraqi political and human right activist As’ad al-Abadi ended up his speech saying: "International organizations turn blind eye to the leader Abdullah Ocalan’s freedom issue and the freedom of the Kurdish people and the people of the region as a whole."
