30 women sexually assaulted since Serêkaniyê occupation

Since launching the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries’ attacks on northeastern areas of  Syria and their occupation of several border areas, violations and practices of the occupation and mercenaries continue against the people and women in particular.

In addition to murders, looting, robbing, theft and changing the region demography through settling mercenary families in the occupied areas, they are also committing shameful actions against women, including sexual abuse.

Serêkaniyê city has been one of the occupied cities by the Turkish army and its mercenaries following its attack on northeastern Syria on October 9 last year.

In this city which is the mosaic of the components of Kurds, Arabs, Syrians, Armenians and Jajans, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries are committing the most horrible violations against the people since its occupation.

These violations have not only affected the demographic change, killings, looting and robbing, but women have also been abused by the occupier.

Sources in Serêkaniyê reported to our agency that 30 women have been sexually assaulted since it has been taken over by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation army.

The sources made clear that five of these women are from al-Jajans, two Kurds and 23 Arabs, and the fate of the women was not known.

 The sources indicated that the mercenaries obliged women to wear niqab in the city.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries kidnapped 3,500 citizens of Afrin, including 159 women, and the fate of 850 citizens is still unknown.
