Ghassan Salameh said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pledged in the fifth item of the Berlin conference statement, like others, not to send troops or mercenaries to Libya.

In an interview with the Libyan TV channel 218, Salama stressed that Erdogan also pledged in the fifth item of the Berlin conference closing statement not to interfere in Libya.

He said in this context: "I have a paper and I have something to question Erdogan for and before that this issue was not available ... and I now have a pledge from him."

In response to a question about how to get the 2,000 Syrian mercenaries Ankara to Libya back, the UN special envoy to Libya said: "There is a project that we will submit to the 5 + 5 committee so that the Libyans give up foreign fighters, not only the 2,000 Syrians, but thousands of others."
