Al-Sumaria TV quoted a security source, today, as saying: Six people were suffocated in front of the American embassy in Baghdad.

The source pointed out that "demonstrators today burned tires in front of the American embassy in Baghdad," noting that "the American forces responded with tear gas canisters fired from inside the embassy."

He added, "This resulted in six protesters suffering from suffocation."

On his part, US President Donald Trump affirmed yesterday evening that Iran will pay dearly for its followers attacking the American embassy in Baghdad, adding that this is not a warning but a threat.

Trump had previously accused Iran of being behind the attack on the US embassy, saying on Twitter: "Iran has orchestrated an attack against the US embassy in Iraq, and it will be fully responsible for that," calling on Iraq to "use its forces to protect the embassy."

And the US Secretary of Defense, Mark Esber, announced that the Pentagon would immediately send about 750 additional soldiers to the Middle East "in response to the recent events in Iraq."

"About 750 soldiers will be deployed to the area immediately," Esber said in a statement today, and he appeared to confirm the information of a US official who said earlier: The United States has sent 500 soldiers to neighboring Kuwait.

He added that there are "additional forces ready to be deployed in the coming days."

3 of the US Defense Department officials said earlier to the American "Fox News" channel: "The US Army's 82nd Airborne Brigade has issued orders for the rapid deployment in Kuwait, amid the turmoil in Baghdad.

At least 500 paratroopers have already been informed in Kuwait.

In addition, members of the brigade that includes about 4,000 paratroopers, known as the DRB - the ready-to-deploy brigade - were told to pack their bags for possible movement in the coming days after storming the US embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday.

In addition, the US military has ordered about 4,000 airborne 82 paratroopers to remain on alert.

More than 100 Marines arrived at the US embassy in Baghdad earlier on Tuesday, to help boost security after supporters of the Kataib Hezbollah tried to storm the US embassy.

Supporters of the Hezbollah Brigades attacked the embassy, after the funeral of 25 of the brigades, who were killed in US air strikes on Sunday in Iraq and Syria, in revenge for a US retired man who was killed in Iraq on Friday, according to US defense officials.
