Fierce clashes in Idlib, mercenaries advanced

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that violent clashes were taking place on al-Deir al-Gharbi axis in the eastern countryside of Maarat al-Numan between the regime forces and mercenary gangs. That was accompanied by mutual shelling and targets.

According to the Observatory, the mercenaries managed to regain control of points that the regime forces had advanced to during the past hours.

On a relevant context, the regime forces bombed areas in Maarshorin, Maarashamshah, Telmans, and the vicinity of Maarat al-Numan, while Russian and regime aircrafts are still absent from the airspace of the region.

In another context, SANA agency of the Syrian regime said that a missile had fallen yesterday on the outskirts of al-Qerdaha city in Lattakia on the Syrian coast, causing financial damage.

The agency declared, “Terrorists holed up in the gaps at the administrative borders between Idlib and Lattakia governorates. They fired a missile on Thursday towards the southeastern countryside of Lattakia city, which fell on the outskirts of al-Qerdaha city, inflicting extensive damage to a house, without causing civilian casualties.”

The Idlib fronts have witnessed a relative calm, after meetings between delegations of Russia, Turkey and the regime in Moscow, and observers spoke that Turkey wanted to improve its conditions by handing the international road M5 to the regime, and keeping the Turkish forces and their mercenaries north of the road.

Turkey's mercenary gangs have subsequently withdrawn from the periphery of the international road, and since that time, the regime and Russian aircrafts have been absent from the region.
