Kurdish, Arab and Syriac politicians welcomed the initiative launched by the Autonomous Administration (AA) regarding the unification of the Kurdish rank, and considered it a positive step.

The Internal Body of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced in a statement of December 17 allowing the parties affiliated with the Kurdish National Council to carry out their work without following any procedures, in addition to abolishing all lawsuits against the political figures in the Council.

On this subject, Hawar news agency met with politicians from Kurdish, Arab and Syriac components.

Where Zelal Cîger, the co-chair of the Executive Committee of the Democratic Society Movement, saw the statement issued by the Internal Body in the Autonomous Administration regarding the opening of the offices of the Kurdish National Council in Rojava in a positive manner.

Regarding the drop of lawsuits against members of the Kurdish National Council to the judiciary in North and East Syria, Zelal indicated that there was a point that must have been considered, wondering, “Do the Internal Body exchange views with the families of martyrs who filed lawsuits against personalities in the Kurdish National Council or not?”

She added, “The opinion of society is important on this issue because it hopes that a national unity will occur among all Kurdish currents and parties at a time when the region is witnessing a third world war.”

Zelal emphasized that through popular solidarity, the occupation could be confronted and that it therefore required from the Kurdish National Council to fulfill the popular calls for Kurdish unity and considered it the basis of its work.

For her part, the leader of the Syriac Union Party, Elizabeth Gawriya, welcomed this initiative, and said that from the beginning, they had supported the unification of the Kurdish ranks and all components of the region.

Elizabeth hoped that the new year would be a year of harmony and prevention of seditions among the components of the region, peacemaking in Syria, and the work together to build a democratic Syria.

While the Sheikh of al-Jubeir tribe, the Sheikh Ragheb al-Fares expressed satisfaction with the initiative launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces and followed by the Internal Body for Northern and Eastern Syria regarding the unification of the Kurdish ranks, indicating that the region was passing through a crucial stage that required all components to stand one row behind the Syrian Democratic Forces to confront the attacks on the region.

He added, “Since the beginning of the Syrian movement, we have been with the unity of the Kurdish-Kurdish and the Arab-Kurdish ranks with the other components, and we have demanded this several times.”

Sheikh Ragheb al-Fares concluded his speech by saying, “With national unity, we can stand against the attempts that aim at dispersing the society.”
