Fawza Yusef: The weak American position; Russian silence gave chance to launch Turkish's attacks

The position of a member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM), Fawza Yusef, came during her participation in the work of the Forum for the Ethnic Genocide and Demographic Change in NE, Syria, which is being held in the town of Rumailan in Qamishlo canton.

Fawza Yusef said that the forum will address very important axes, given the historical dimension of the issue of ethnic genocide and demographic change in the region, and "it is also an issue of the present moment."

She noted that what the Middle East in general and Syria in particular are going through is very similar to what the beginning of the last century passed.

She added: "The first two decades of the last century changed the political map of the Middle East and drew new borders. Now also we are facing a process of radical change that can chart the features of the twenty-first century."

Fawza pointed out that what the Turkish government is experiencing today from the phobia of democratic change may lead to a change in its internal status as well, because its fascist attack on the peoples in Turkey and its insistence on occupying NE, Syria is only an attempt to recover what it lost in World War I.

"It fears of the success of the model of the Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria, which is the alternative to the fascist model offered by the Turkish state to the region," she added.

Fawza pointed out that Turkey, by attacking Afrin, Serêkaniyê, Tal Abyad, Idlib, al-Bab, Azaz and Jarablus, is seeking to fail the democratic nation's project and the draft of the Syrian democratic constitution. Working to support terrorism and converting the displaced Syrians into an army of mercenaries and jihadists who kill their people is the biggest crime committed against Syrian society.

Fawza Yusuf pointed out that Turkey's goal is to sow discord and undermine confidence in the components of the region whose resistance has attracted world's attention.

Fawza explained that the people of the constituents in the region will not forget the weak American position and the Russian silence, without which Turkey would not have dared to do this thing, and she continued, saying: "The components will not forget that 5 million people in the north and east of Syria are still not represented in the negotiating body and in the The Constitutional Committee and ISIS Jabhet al-Nusra organizations are represented in Geneva and Sochi.

Fawza highlighted the American recognition of the Armenian massacre committed by the occupation a hundred years ago, instead of stopping the massacres committed by Turkey today against the components of NE, Syria, returning the residents of the occupied areas to their lands in accordance with international guarantees, and the participation of its representatives in the Geneva negotiations and the Constitutional Committee, and the declaration of Turkey as a funding country terrorism and export it to the world.
