AL-HASAKAH

he international road M4, known locally as the international road connecting the two governorates of al-Hasakah and Aleppo, the so-called al-Jaish al-Watani mercenaries of the Turkish occupation army had taken control of parts of it to become out of service, after the attack launched by the Turkish occupation on the northern and eastern regions of Syria on the 9th of last October.

Since yesterday morning, many Syrian and international media outlets have circulated news that the international road M4 was back in service and the regime forces controlled the road, after an agreement between the Turkish occupation army on the one hand and the Russian military police on the other hand, stipulating the withdrawal of Turkish mercenaries from the road.

The process of controlling the international road negatively affected the region, which is considered a strategic and main artery for transportation between the two Syrian governorates, and the link between the east and north of the country, which used to witness a large movement in the transport of goods and the movement of the region's residents between the two governorates.

To see the reality  of the road, the reporter of the Hawar  News Agency monitored the international road M4 from this morning until the moment of preparing the report, in which he made clear the false allegations that promoted the return of the road to service, and the withdrawal of Turkey's mercenaries from the road linking the Tel Tamr district of al-Hasakah governorate and the town of Ain Issa of the governorate of al-Raqqa, located on the road to the Syrian province of Aleppo, and the falsehood of this road returning to use as no machinery has been crossed and used for this road.

Drivers of transport vehicles, that were using the road in advance of the occurrence of parts of it under the control of the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation army, pointed out that this road did not enter service, and that only talking about this road was limited to the media, expressing their discontent with the agreements that might endanger their lives due to their falsity.

Abdel-Ghani Dawood, a H100 van driver, who is from the Tel Tamr district, west of the Syrian city of al-Hasakah said, “We used to use the road continuously and we were safe in our travel to Kobanê, Manbij, al-Raqqa and Aleppo, but it was cut off due to armed groups controlling it, and currently the traffic is stopped. On this road, we wait for it to be safe, and we will know that it opens when watching the oil tanks taking it.”

As for Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed from the side of Zarkan district and works as a driver for a tourist car and commutes among the Syrian governorates, he pointed out that all the agreements were not serious and remained informative only, and “there is nothing new on the reality of the international road, it is still out of service, and talking about its return and the departure of mercenaries from it is nothing but In the frameworks of the media, as on the ground everything is completely contrary. We fear that this road will be used because of the danger it poses to the lives of civilians. This road has not been used by any machinery yet.”

According to our reporter, who arrived and took the international road to the village of Ghibesh, west of the Tel Tamr district of the Syrian city of al-Hasakah, the road never entered service, and that all machineries only use the road known as the white road linking the Syrian governorates of al-Hasakah and al-Raqqa, and he said, “For 4 consecutive hours, we have not seen any cars use this road.”

The international road M4 witnessed on Friday, the 11th of last October, the operation of targeting the Secretary-General of the Future Syria Party, Hevrin Khalaf, by Turkey's mercenaries, and as a result, Hevrin was brutally martyred and rose to the level of martyrdom, while she was heading towards Qamishlo.
