Al-Sumaria news channel reported that angry demonstrators closed the government departments in al-Diwaniyah governorate and announced the general strike.

And added, "This morning, demonstrators closed the government departments and announced a general strike on al-Diwaniyah."

In another context, the Security Media Cell issued a statement today regarding the targeting of a camp near Baghdad Airport with four Katyusha rockets.

"Four Katyusha rockets landed in one of the camps surrounding Baghdad International Airport, resulted in wounded six fighters," the cell said in a statement.

Security sources told "Agence France Presse" that all the wounded are from the Anti-Terrorist Forces that are considered elite forces in Iraq, and indicated that among the wounded, two are in a critical condition.

Al Qaeda houses American soldiers and diplomats, and this is the ninth attack in six weeks, against bases that include American soldiers or the US embassy in the Green Zone.

The source said to al-Sumaria News, "Unidentified gunmen in a motorbike shot the civilian activist, and Faham al-Taie in front of al-Ansar Hotel in the Baroudi area, in the center of the old city of Karbala, which led to his death at once."

The bloody protests in Iraqi cities were accompanied by bloody security incidents, the most prominent of which was targeting the headquarters of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, in addition to targeting the American and Balad al-Assad bases in the United States at a time of escalating Iranian-American tension.
