Newroz al-Raqqa activities conclude with traditional shows, popular songs

The activities of the Newroz eid in al-Raqqa, which started under the slogan "In the spirit of Newroz, break the isolation and liberate the occupied areas in Syria," concluded with the presentation of heritage shows and popular songs by the participating bands.

Today, the city of al-Raqqa witnessed the first celebration of Newroz after a long absence attended by thousands of people from the cities of al-Raqqa, al-Tabqa and Deir ez-Zor.

After the mothers of martyrs lit the Newroz flame, and participants stood a minute of silence, the activities of the celebration started, words that blessed Newroz were delivered on all peoples and noted that the did is a rebirth and victory over injustice.

Each component dressed in their own folkloric costume raised flags and symbols of the region with slogans that salute the Resistance of the Age and sacrifices of Syrian Democratic Forces.

The celebration included performances by the Circassian band, while the Heritage band of al-Raqqa performed a popular song then Qamishlo band for popular arts performed Kurdish dances and revolutionary songs.

The events of Newroz ended with Dabka with traditional and popular songs.

It is worth mentioning that the last Newroz was celebrated by the people of al-Raqqa in 2011 and the celebrations were prohibited after the occupation of the city by mercenary groups.
