Anwar Muslim: Huger strikers' demands are legimate, world must end silence towards them

After lighting the Newroz torch and holding a minute of silence in remembrance of the martyrs, the events began with a speech by the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Euphrates region Anwar Muslim who at the beginning welcomed the guests and all the attendees and saluted the security and military forces.

And added, "Newroz 2019 today and after 2600 years repeats itself. Just as Kawa al-Haddad defeated the oppression of al-Dahhak and began a new day for all peoples, today, the fighters of freedom are defeating IS. From this, we spread good news about IS' defeat."

Muslim pointed out that injustice practiced by IS against the peoples of the region is repeated today in Afrin at the hands of Justice and Development Government and its mercenaries, adding, "But they do not know that we will celebrate in Afrin in the near future, as today, because injustice does not last."

Anwar Muslim expressed his regret over the threat of Damascus government to the north and east of Syria, instead of talking about the occupation of Turkey to Syria, stressing that the government must show a firm stance towards the occupation.

He said, "We are open to dialogue and we call for a decentralized democratic Syria. We want to live with fraternity and participation in the democratic nation project we established in the region thanks to the blood of our martyrs."

On the threats of the Turkish state, the co-chair of the Executive Council in the Euphrates region Anwar Muslim said: "Turkey, which is suffering at home, holding freedoms and filling its prisons with detainees, is trying to export its problems abroad by threatening this region, but we will protect our regions."

And the hunger strike that is taking place in parts of Kurdistan and the world in order to lift the isolation of leader Ocalan Anwar Muslim said: "The world is silent about the hunger strike carried out by dozens of people, these people have humanitarian demands that should not be ignored, we must all step up the struggle to achieve freedom."

"A court must be set up in Kobani to hold accountable IS' elements"

Anwar Muslim said during his speech about IS' detainees to SDF's, "There are thousands of IS' detainees who committed massacres in Kobani and Şengal and whose hands stained with the blood of the people of the region, so they must be held accountable and a court in Kobani must by established with the support of the international community to try them here to be punished fairly."

And added, "This place is the place of resistance, so the demand of the people is to try IS' elements."
