Deadline expires, SDF announce its military operations resumed in al-Baguoz

ANHA reporters catching up with "Battle to Defeat Terrorism," the final phase of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign, reported that the Syrian Democratic Forces announced at 18:00 on Sunday evening the resumption of military operations in al-Bagouz, the last stronghold of IS mercenaries.

A military source told our correspondents that after the deadline given by the Syrian Democratic Forces to IS mercenaries to surrender themselves and their families, which ended this afternoon, the Syrian Democratic Forces resumed their military operations in al-Baguoz, the last stronghold of mercenaries, to liberate it from the remaining mercenaries.

On March 1, the Syrian Democratic Forces declared the final battle to liberate the remaining village of al-Bagouz from Daesh mercenaries. Later, it announced suspending operations on one of the village fronts to allow the mercenaries and their families to leave the village and surrender. Thousands of mercenaries and their families left the village, while some still refuse to surrender.
