Bo Saab: Presence of Turkey on Syrian territory is occupation

Lebanese Defense Minister Elias Bo Saab told Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar that any Turkish presence in Syria without Damascus' approval is an occupation. Lebanon's reservation on Ankara's declaration of " a buffer zone" in northern and eastern Syria is clear.

The statements of the Lebanese Defense Minister during a meeting with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference currently held in Germany, according to the media, Bo Saab expressed, "the buffer zone will not be the solution, it will be a safe haven for terrorists."

He said, "Any Turkish presence on Syrian soil without the consent of the Syrian state is unwelcome and illegal and is considered an occupation."

On August 24, 2016, the Syrian city of Jrablos was occupied by a comic play between it and IS, then al-Bab and Azzaz, the last of which was Afrin canton. After a violent attack, Turkey used all its advanced military equipment from planes, tanks, guns and even weapons and also the internationally prohibited chemical weapons.
