Al-Raqqa after liberation received 480+ thousand citizens

The city of al-Raqqa is witnessing a remarkable wave of returnees, after the security prevailed since the Syrian Democratic Forces liberated the region from mercenaries in October 20, 2017, and the internal security forces that are working for the security of the region. The city is witnessing an unprecedented movement of its kind especially in the commercial and industrial markets.

The service institutions, especially People’s Municipality, are working hard to rebuild the legacy of the battles in the past period, which have undertaken these tasks, in particular to provide all services to the people despite the limited resources available to them.

The population of the city of al-Raqqa, according to the statistics of the of al-Raqqa Civil Council in 2018 is more than 340 thousand of the people of the city of al-Raqqa, and the number of displaced from the rest of the other regions in the country exceeds 140 thousand displaced, while the city is witnessing on a daily basis return of the people.

"The city is witnessing a large percentage of social and security stability, which in turn contributes to the return of life to it, and the city's markets unusually busy, and the number of shops in the city ranges from 8 to 9 thousand different commercial store."

"We continue our promise and our pledge to rebuild the city and pledge every drop of blood from our martyrs to follow their path towards the dignity and security of the city," concluded Ibrahim.

After the control of Jabhit al-Nusra mercenaries and its siblings on the city of al-Raqqa and after that IS mercenaries, which led to the mass exodus towards the regional and European countries. After the liberation of the city by the Syrian Democratic Forces, the city is witnessing a return wave for the people of al-Raqqa and other displaced persons fleeing the Syrian regime and the occupied territories  by Turkey.
