YPG's General Command issued statement on occasion of Kobanî liberation anniversary

The General Command of the People's Protection Units issued today a statement to the public on the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Kobanî of IS mercenaries.

The statement said:

"Kobanî's resistance proved that, despite the weak capabilities, our fighters managed to defeat the most powerful terrorist organization, and on the ground of Kobanî resistance, the first base formed in the unity of the Kurdish class, where the young Kurds, and from various parts of Kurdistan, headed to liberate the people and the gains.

Kobanî's resistance drew the attention of all the parties and the world powers eager for freedom and rejection of terrorism, and the international day of solidarity with it was the strongest expression of it. In which the will of the peoples and humanity was united in eradication of terrorism.

Our resistance in Kobanî prevailed on January 26, 2015, and this victory was echoed all over the world.

Today, the resistance of Kobanî embodies in the resistance of Deir ez-Zor and Hajin areas in order to destroy the terrorist organization and the alleged caliphate

The resistance alone has achieved stability and security for the region and the world to live freely.

Once again, on behalf of the General Command of the YPJ and YPJ, we congratulate all our people, especially our martyrs, who have demonstrated their resistance with their pure blood on the land of Kobanî, and we promise them to continue on the path they have set for us by protecting the people from all attacks.
