Leyla Guven's status should be viewed on human basis

Meeting the invitation of the Women Council in Manbij and its countryside, a solidarity demonstration with the struggle of the parliamentarian Leyla Guven has been launched in Manbij city, the demonstrators raised banners reading" with the resistance of Leyla Guven, we will break the prison's walls, hand by hand to defeat the Turkish occupation", also pictures of the parliamentarian Leyla Guven, flags of the Women Council, and flags of the Young Women Union.   

With the arrival of the demonstration to the Women Council, the administrator of the Women Council, Nadia Melhim said, "the women's history is full of heroism, resistance, redemption and sacrifice and they have always been the first to join the struggle and symbolized the real resistance of women."

She added "Today, history proves to us that women's resistance is continuing and has not stopped. Here is Leyla Guven, who has received the freedom torch and enlightened the way of women all over the world to walk on the path of freedom and proved to the world that with the presence of the likes of Leyla Guven, the masculine mentality would not reach its aim."  

Shahriban Darwish, the vice co-chair of the Executive Council said," When Leyla Guven decided to go on hunger strike, not because she was arrested by the fascist state, but to reveal the right and defend the human rights which were violated by the Turkish state". 

Asma Muhammad, on behalf of the administrator of the Young Women Union, concluded saying, "On behalf of the free young women, we announce our solidarity with Leyla Guven, and confirm that her status should be viewed on a human not political basis."
