77 days after the hunger strike announced by the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement Leyla Guven to the media in the courtroom on November 7-2018, rejecting the inhumane violations by the Government of Justice and Development against the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan and demand an end to isolation  and as her health deteriorated and the demands of parliamentarian Leyla Guven and other detainees and politicians in Turkish state prisons were not met, Hawar News Agency conducted interview with Arab women jurists in al-Shahba canton.

The jurist Nariman Hussein said that the hunger strike of Leyla Guven and the general strike campaigns in general "is considered one of the finest types of peaceful struggle through which the detainee resorts to the demands of human rights and demands that have been recognized by international conventions and laws."

Nariman added, "It is a duty of the detaining state to look carefully at the demands of Leyla Guven and to respond to them, especially as the strike is at a very high level and constitutes a danger and a threat to her life."

Nariman noted that the strike by Leyla Guven was "to lift the isolation of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan and added that this strike appeals to the conscience of humanity in the world, and requires the Turkish state to deal with the strike in accordance with international conventions and laws."

While the jurist Salwa Ajaj considered that Leyla Guven "is the example of the strength of every woman who demands her right, and her insistence on following up the strike is an expression of her strong will."

She added "They refuse to arrest politicians in general, and we call upon the international community, led by human rights organizations, to abandon their absolute silence on the strike of Leyla Guven and to seek to lift the isolation posed on Ocalan."
