Mass protest in Euphrates region denouncing Turkish occupation to Afrin

A while ago, thousands of the people who are coming from the cities of Girê Spî, Ain Issa, Seren, Kobani and its villages in the square of Free women in Kobani have gone on a protest called by the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in the Euphrates region to denounce the Turkish occupation of Afrin, refusing the Turkish threats towards north and east areas of liberated Syria.

Turkey launched on 20 January 2018 an aggression against Afrin canton, which was repelled by strong resistance from Syrian Democratic Forces, which resisted for 58 consecutive days, but the Turkish army managed to occupy the city center of Afrin and its environs and villages on March 18 of the same year.

The demonstrators have raised pictures of the victims of the Turkish massacres in Afrin, as well as pictures of the martyrs of the region and the martyrs of the resistance of Afrin and banners with slogans that confirm the rejection of the Turkish occupation, in addition to the flags of the forces working to protect the region.

All the components in Afrin canton from Kurds, Arabs, Turkmen and Armenians participated in the protest.

The protest is going to the square of the martyr Agid in the center of the city of Kobani, where the protestors are scheduled to stand there and to give speeches on behalf of the administration of the region.

The protest coincides with others that are taking place today in most cities in north and east Syria and organized by calls from Autonomous Administration.

As these events come to emphasize the rejection of the people of the region to the Turkish occupation in Afrin and Turkey's threats to areas of north and east of Syria, and to confirm the resistance in its face.
