European, Middle East parliamentarians solidarity with Leyla Guven

The co-chair of the Democratic Community Conference and the Parliamentarian in the Democratic People's Party in Julêmêrk Leyla Guven, announced a hunger strike denouncing the isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan 64 days ago.

In this regard, European and Middle East parliamentarians expressed their support for the effectiveness of Leyla Guven, through a statement in which they focused on her health situation which is deteriorating day by day.

According to news published in Karenja newspaper, the statement focused on the demands of Leyla Guven as stated that since October 11, 2016, so far there is no information about the health status of Ocalan, either by telephone or by seeing him face to face.

"We are hearing the message of Leyla Guven, and we appeal to Ankara authorities to act in accordance with the laws and to release Leyla Guven as quickly as possible," the statement said.

"The only way to resolve the Kurdish issue is peaceful and democratic dialogue, non-arrest and isolation," the statement said.
