This is what is happening in Manbij city

Manbij city located in north of Syria is still threatened by the Turkish state, which made the city as media arena, a source of news for activists and some of the provocative channels, regardless of its impact on Manbij residents.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed with the Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Civil Administration Mohammed Khair Sheikho, telling us what is happening inside the city. 

Sheikho said several rumors have spread recently and conflicting news from media centers about Manbij city including the entry of the Syrian regime and its security institutions, withdrawal of our forces, or the so-called Euphrates shield's forces and Turkey entering the city, along with the exit of the International Coalition forces from Manbij city.

Sheikho refuted this news and false news that promote the entry of the forces of the Syrian regime and its security institutions to Manbij city, saying, we are living in the city now and we do our work as planned, while the security institutions in Manbij city are only Manbij Interior Security Forces,as well as spreading of the of Manbij Military Council on the administrative border of the city there is no change, and we refute entering security system to the Dam of Tishren.

He said that what was discussed regarding the return of the institutions of the Syrian regime was within the framework of the civil service institutions. "Regarding the return of the institutions of the Syrian regime to the city of Manbij, there was earlier dialogue between Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij and the regime, the dialogue aims to restore the civil and service institutions of the city, but it did not reach then an understanding that satisfies the parties."

'We will not allow anyone to interfere in internal affairs'

Regarding the Turkish intervention and the withdrawal of the Manbij Military Forces from Manbij city, Mohammed Khair Sheikho assured the residents of the administration's rejection of any external interference in the internal affairs of the city of Manbij. "Over the past two years, we have achieved great gains at all levels of service, political and military. As administration, we send a message to assure our parents that we will not allow anyone to interfere in the internal affairs of the city of Manbij, not by the Syrian regime, nor by Turkey or its mercenaries of the so-called Euphrates Shield, and we pledge to preserve all gains achieved.

Cooperation between the Administration and the International Coalition continues

 “All news circulated about the withdrawal of American troops is groundless, the joint patrols are still ongoing between the International Coalition forces and the civil administration and  Manbij Military Council, which is a good example of the presence of these forces, service projects that were approved before the US decision to withdraw are still ongoing and are being worked on.

He stressed that Democratic Civil Administration of Manbij city and its countryside depends on itself and not on the external forces in the management of the city, we depend on ourselves and the possibilities available and our gains, we did not depend on any party, the administration was dealing with the International Alliance in some of the service matters that the coalition would like to provide to the area, but did not rely on the International Coalition.

At the end of his speech, the Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Civil Administration Mohammed Khair Sheikho pointed out that the US withdrawal will not affect in any way their administration.
