Facilities to unlicensed parties to open offices in N. Syria

The Political Parties Affairs Committee, in response to the initiative of the Kurdistan National Congress to create the conditions and climates for the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue, decided to allow the parties not licensed by Autonomous Administration to open their offices as of January 5, 2019.

The Political Parties Committee of the Legislative Council held a press conference at the Legislative Council in the city of Qamishlo, which was attended by several media outlets. A statement was delivered, in Arabic by the Co-chair of the Legislative Council in al-Jazeera region Hakam Khlo, and in the Kurdish language by the Co-chair of the Interior Authority in al-Jazeera region Kanaan Barakat said:

Decision No. 1

In accordance with the national interest, in response to the initiative of the Kurdistan National Congress to create the conditions and climates of the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue and unify the national position on all issues, the Political Parties Committee decided the following:

1- Allow the parties not licensed by Autonomous Administration to open their offices.

2- The concerned parties must abide by its content.

The decision will be published in all media outlets and will be effective from 5/1/2019.

The decision to allow unlicensed political parties to comply with the appeal by Kurdistan National Party–Rojava, to create conditions and climate for a Kurdish consultative meeting to deter Turkish threats and to unite the ranks of the Kurdish political movement in Rojava.
